London School of Orthotropics
The LSFO is the oldest teaching center in the world aimed at affecting facial growth, set up in 1983 by Professor John Mew. Students were introduced to the concept that although facial growth is genetic, it is also guided by the posture and actions of soft tissues of the mouth, especially the tongue, lips and cheeks, as well as the opposing dentition.
The lecturers are Professor John Mew, the originator of Orthotropics®, and Dr. Mike Mew, his son. They have developed and refined the Orthotropic® concept to create a technique that has been so successful with their patients in the UK.
